This makes so much sense!

After Karl Stefanovic’s axing from Today, viewers were concerned when co-host Sarah Abo mysteriously disappeared. Some fans theorised she had been cut from the show and would not be given a proper farewell.

However, on this morning’s episode of Today, it was confirmed Sarah had a health crisis related to her pregnancy. Now, the presenter has taken to Instagram to clear up rumours and share the real reason why she left Today.

“Copped a bit of a curveball last week with high blood pressure and have been in and out of hospital since,” the host wrote. “Thankfully I’m in the safe hands of magnificent doctors, nurses and midwives taking incredibly good care of bub and me and we are both well.”

Sarah was supposed to say goodbye to Today fans before going on maternity leave, but she confirmed this would no longer be happening.

“[The doctors] have ordered rest as they monitor me though! Which means I won’t make it back to Today to say goodbye to all you wonderful people before so abruptly heading off on maternity leave. I’m sorry,” she wrote.

“Thank you for all your beautiful messages of love and support, particularly the past few weeks — I seriously pinch myself when I think about how many good people there are out there. So special.”

Sarah continued by saying she hopes to reply to all fans sending gifts and cards to congratulate her, but noted there could be a delay.

“Just know how incredibly grateful I am,” she added. “A reminder to make sure you look after yourself, pregnant or not!”

“Enjoy the quiet before the chaos begins Wonder Woman! You are going to be a beautiful mum,” presenter Sarah Harris said.
