Sad News for Ghostbusters Reboot Fans

The new female directed reboot of Ghostbusters, which we all know is a cult classic, had many people divided from the get go. This was mainly due to the decision to be inclusive of females on every angle of the production and casting process. However, despite all of the negativity surrounding it, many people (myself included) thought it was going to do very well due to the sheer awesomeness of girl power and the hype around it come premiere time.

However, imagine my surprise when I heard that Sony are pretty confused on how to move forward with the plans for a sequel. It could be due to all the negative hype surrounding this movie, or that they’re currently running at a loss of $70 million dollars. It also makes things a bit difficult that the original director of the Ghostbuster franchise, Paul Freig, has said that he will not be a part of the next one. He really only agreed to this one because it was ‘too tempting’.

However, if it’s any consolation, Sony haven’t definitely ruled out the idea of making a sequel, they just have no idea how to proceed with the idea of making one. Try not to be too down. Just remember, If there’s something weird, and it don’t look good, you know who to call.
