If you want to stream Avatar: The Way of Water from your living room in Australia, we have some good news for you because Disney+ has just announced a streaming date for James Cameron’s blockbuster.

The sci-fi hit will be hitting the streaming service on June 7 and will include bonus content featuring filmmakers, cast and crew.

The film grossed $2.32 billion globally in cinemas, surpassing Titanic ($2.242 billion), and became the third highest-grossing film of all-time. It was even nominated for a slew of Academy Awards at this year’s Oscars including Best Picture and set a new benchmark for visual effects.

What is Avatar: The Way of Water About?

13 years after the success of the original sci-fi flick, The Way of Water follows is set more than a decade after the events of the first film.

The story follows the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children) as they leave their homes to venture into unknown regions of Pandora.

When an old threat resurfaces, Jake is once again forced to wage a battle against the humans.

Who is in the cast?

Returning cast include leads Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña and also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Rabisi and Kate Winslet.
