This week has been an amazing one for anyone who plays Bethesda games, whether it be The Elder Scrolls, Fallout or, hell, even Dishonoured. We get news on new expansions for Fallout 4 and 3 new games that Bethesda are working on which are set to be ‘different’ to anything that they have done. For a game that has lived up to the hype that was created around it, we finally have some new stories to embark on.
After the long awaited release of Fallout 4, fans like myself have been salivating at the mouth for any news on additional downloadable content (DLC) and we finally got it! There are three new add-ons to the game that will be sure to spice up gameplay on top of the previous mentioned updates to survival mode. The three DLC’s are also accompanied by an updated price for the season pass which grants players all of the future DLC for a discounted price. The price changes are as follows: $29.99 to $49.99 USD (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) on March 1, 2016.
The three announced DLC’s are:
Automatron: March 2016 for a price of: $9.99 USD | £7.99 GBP | $14.95 AUD
“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!” Source.
Wasteland Workshop: April 2016 for a price of: $4.99 USD | £3.99 GBP | $6.95 AUD
“With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!” Source.
Far Harbor: may 2016 for a price of: $24.99 USD | £19.99 GBP | $29.95 AUD
A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armour and weapons. The choices are all yours. Source.
For fans of Fallout 3 and the DLC that came with this amazing can expect nothing less than a stellar experience with the new Fallout 4 content. My personal favourite was the Point Lookout downloadable content which took the vault dweller to an island off the coast where strange encounters happen and spooky stories unfold as you try to piece together what happened to this once joyful land.
Let’s Play Fallout 3 Point Lookout.
