Donald Trump. He’s hard enough to understand at the best of times. And, the thought of him in charge of a soccer team is terrifying enough, let alone a whole country. Sometimes, the only way to deal with the concerning realities of our overseas, super-powered neighbours is to remind ourselves we have a whole ocean between us and their crazy and to use humour as a coping mechanism. Hahaaaaaa if he gets into office the world is doomed.

One Reddit user, ShowMeYourTITTIES (obviously a well informed and respected political commentator), used Futurama, or more specifically, Zapp Brannigan as a template to explain away the crazy, and try to restore some normality to the American presidential election. They say that:
“Donald Trump quotes make a lot more sense when you imagine Zapp Brannigan saying them.”

So, it seems that even though Futurama is set in the year 3000, some of it may be a little more real than fiction. And, if having Zapp Brannigan in a position of power leads to whacky, zaney adventures for the people of Earth, it should work out the same with dear old Donald, right?
