Lauren on MAFS

So, a MAFS bride and groom who AREN’T matched together have been spotted cuddling up

They're actually quite a good match!?

**WARNING: This article contains potential spoilers for MAFS 2024.**

Just like every season of MAFS, things are bound to get messy, and a photo of Ellie Dix and Jono McCullough cosying up together post-filming only proves that theory.

Of course, Jono is married to Lauren Dunn, and Ellie is paired up with Ben Walters on the show. However, The Wash has shared a photo of the team looking rather loved up at Ellie’s work Christmas party together in December.

The shared photo wasn’t taken as part of a task, and filming of MAFS had completely wrapped by December, which makes the match even more puzzling.

While the details are sparse at the moment about what the hell Ellie and Jono were actually doing together, we have a few theories. Firstly, they could have hit it off during the couple swap challenge and continued dating, secondly, they could have had a Jessika Power and Dan Webb-style affair.

Of course, Ellie and Jono could have got together after the show ala Carly Bowyer and Troy Delmege from season 5.

Producers are furious at MAFS participants for ruining the season

Earlier this year, a Nine source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that the MAFS producers were  “furious” that a couple publicly flaunted their relationship before the season began airing. The pair were allegedly spotted together at Burleigh Pavilion on the Gold Coast in December.

“They must know they are breaking their signed agreement with the Nine Network,” the insider said. “No one’s more happy for contestants to actually find love but they are going to need to be more secretive for now and keep their time on the show hidden from the public.

“These 2024 contestants have all completed filming for the eleventh series and while some may have walked away with a loving relationship, others have been left to lick their wounds. Either way, they have signed contracts forbidding them from ruining storylines.”

Watch Married at First Sight Sundays at 7.00pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.
