My eyes are green and they cry real tears.

I didn’t choose to have green eyes. It was the luck of the draw, much like my sexuality.

I struggled and fought with the idea that I may be gay for many years in my youth, but I am glad that I did because it has taught me one important lesson.

I amĀ one hell of a fighter.

I am so much stronger than before, and being gay is something that I would never change.

So, what I don’t understand is why is there still such a prejudice towards people who are different?

Where has the value of humanity disappeared too?

Why and how can there be such hatred targeted towards the LGBTQ+ community?

The most recent tragedy at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando has shaken communities to their very cores, all across the world.

It is devastating to think that so many people lost their lives in such this senseless and violent attack.

This is a time where we shouldĀ be united rather than divided.

Sadly, hate does exist in this world, butĀ love is love and it will always win.

Like many of you, people within the LGBTQ+ community want the same things in life.

I want a loving husband and two daughters.

I want my love to be recognised on a piece of paper and for my best friends to stand next to me as I marry the love of my life.

But sadly, there is still a road that I must continue to travel down with my fellow brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ+ community.

It may be tough and it may knock us around, though love, at the end of the day, will be the power which ignites our minds and hearts.

Share humanity and relish in kindness.

We all may be a little different, but at the end of the day we have the same eyes, that cry crystal tears and the same hearts which beat and call for love.
