It’s time to gather those yoghurt pouches and pack your camping gear, because the lineup for the 2017-18 Falls Festival has finally been dropped.

Announced by triple j’s Ben and Liam on Monday morning, the lineup sees Australian favourite Flume leading the charge of stellar acts alongside American ring-ins Fleet Foxes and Run the Jewels, as well as English legend Liam Gallagher.

The lineup is notably local, with a tonne of huge Aussie acts including DZ Deathrays, Thundamentals, The Smith Street Band and The Jungle Giants.

And in the biggest festival plot twist since The Darkness playing at this year’s Groovin the Moo, Aussie icon and karaoke go-to man Daryl Braithwaite has also been announced on the lineup.

However, a lineup breakdown by Vice, shows that only 11 out of the 36 acts are women. This comes after the lack of female representation in the Australian music scene has been a hot topic in recent years.

Back in April, promoters of a ANU bar gig received massive backlash for their blasé response to public criticism of an all-male lineup.

Whether the lack of gender diversity will deter keen punters from making the trek to Lorne, Byron Bay, Marion Bay or Fremantle is hard to tell. But I reckon Daryl Braithwaite’s attendance might see the number of middle-aged women attending skyrocket.

First release tickets go on sale on Tuesday 29 August via the Falls Festival website.
