Meet UK alt-rock quartet Bel Esprit. The Southampton lads first burst into the music industry back in 2013, on a mission to rejuvenate the noughties indie scene with particular nods to The Velvet Underground and Andy Warhol.
The foursome spent most of last year promoting their debut EP Lose My Mind, which received positive feedback from the critics and folks back home. Their leading single of the same title racked up over 150,000 plays across several different platforms, leading to it being featured on BBC Radio 6 Music with Steve Lamacq.
The band has since had a fantastic 12 months performing gigs at their local music festivals Common People, Wickham, Independence and Icebreaker. They’ve even managed to hit the studio and come out with brand spanking new song Leave Me Here.

The new track is a nifty tune with its suave composure and hints of psychedelia. Its infectious swagger features distorted guitars, layered chants and front man Billy Herklots’ self-assured and ever present vocals. The song is definitely a bit of a deviation from some of their previous work, but it has left us and devoted British fans thirsty for what we can only hope is a potential album in the near future.
Leave Me Here will be available for purchase on April 8. Want more? Be sure to check out Bel Esprit’s SoundCloud for some of their older hits. The band’s music video for Lose My Mind can be found below.
