Another month, another tonne of new movies! Like previous months, we could be here for hours dealing with all the new releases this month. But to save us all the time, these are the best movies to look out for this month.
Blade Runner 2049 – October 5th
Set 30 years after the 35-year-old original, Blade Runner is back on our screens. Harrison Ford returns reprises his role as Rick Deckard from the original film. Arrival and Sicario director, Denis Villeneuve will direct the film.
Joining Ford is La La Land‘s Ryan Gosling, Guardian of the Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista, House of Cards‘ Robin Wright and Suicide Squad‘s Jared Leto
The Snowman – October 19th
It wouldn’t be October without a scary movie, am I right? This film is a horror/crime/drama that pits a detective against a serial killer that is a bit too obsessed with snowmen.
Staring Michael Fassbender in the lead role, he is supported by Rebecca Ferguson, Val Kilmer and J.K. Simmons.
Thor: Ragnarok – October 26th
The third installment in the Thor franchise and the 17th in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Ragnarok is up there as one of the most anticipated films of the year. Hunt for the Wildperpeople and What We Do in the Shadows director, Kiwi Taika Waititi will direct the film while also staring in a minor role as Korg.
The film has a massive cast including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldburn as the Grandmaster and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk.
Brigsby Bear – October 26th
When James learns that much of his life is a lie and that his favourite show was made just for him, he sets out to bring the world his favourite show, Brigsby Bear.
The film stars SNL‘s Kyle Mooney, Star War‘s Mark Hamill, Twin Peaks‘ Jane Adams and The Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg.
