Finally after almost 28 years in waiting for someone to repeat his name 3 times, our beloved ‘Ghost with the most’ will be back on the big screen to cause mischief and chaos for our enjoyment.
The cult classic movie Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, has been a hit with fans for over 2 decades with its gothic visuals, fun, enjoyable characters (played masterfully by the likes of Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton and a young Alec Baldwin) and is popularly considered as one of the best movies that Burton ever created. Accompanying the acting and directing is the amazing soundtrack composed by the atmospheric and wonderful, Danny Elfman.
After a long series of false rumours and conformations from the likes of even Ryder, we can finally say that this one is for real! We have been hearing it’s on it’s way for years now through interviews with various people but how much longer can we wait?
Let’s just appreciate one of the many spectacular scenes in this marvellous movie.
In an interview with Burton for Showbizspy, he spilled the beans on the new movie by saying: “The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael. We have the script in hand everything is in place all we need to do now is get ready to start filming.” Just as everything seemed to be looking up and that these glimpses of hope flickered into our hearts, they were ripped out and played with as now it is being stated that Burton never actually spoke to Showbizpy and that his rep told The Independent: “I rep Tim Burton and wanted to let you know that Tim did not provide a statement to confirm Beetlejuice 2 as the movie is not in development. Tim’s focus is entirely on Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and developing Dumbo.”
Are you as excited for the new Beetlejuice movie as we are? Let us know. As of right now the movie has the backing of the cast and crew, but it isn’t too eager to start creating the masterpiece just yet as the master himself stated that it isn’t in a developmental stage just yet.
