Like many of you out there, I play and love Final Fantasy. The first one I ever played was FF VIII on the PlayStation, and it was my first exposure to a game that wasn’t just Ape Escape. I have since moved forward with my collection, and own almost every Final Fantasy game out there. That was a good 15 or so years ago, now we get the news that Ariana Grande is going to feature as a playable character in the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
This will be the first time a non-fictional person has appeared in a Final Fantasy game, which will soon be followed by the Final Fantasy XV DLC boss being Yosuke Matsuda, the president and CEO of Square Enix. Grande announced this via her Twitter, and has since given us some other teasers, including some footage of her in-game avatar.

Surprisingly it looks really good, and the model suits the Final Fantasy universe. We can even see what seems to be the animation for certain attacks, of which two are singing animations, and one is full pop star diva.

Her character is currently called Dangerous Woman, shortened to DW in most places, and although she does not seem to ferocious considering it’s really a bunny cosplay, it really suits the diva aesthetic she is known for.
I am extremely excited to see where this takes Square Enix in the future. Brave Exvius has been given positive reviews, featuring a retro soundtrack and old school combat style. It was released in Japan late 2015, then worldwide on June 29 2016.
