When life hands Angus Stone lemons, he makes Dope Lemon. Despite the singer-songwriter previously releasing albums under his own name and as 1/2 of the sibling duo that is Angus and Julia Stone, this musical adventure is a fresh new take all of its own.
The band’s first album Honey Bones is due out soon and was recorded with the help of good friends Elliot Hammond (The Delta Riggs) and Rohin Brown (front man for The Walking Who). The majority of the record is said to have been written on Stone’s farm in his own recording space at Belafontè Studios.
To celebrate the release of the new single and forthcoming album, the lads have got fans creating some dope lemon memes and announced that they’ll be reposting the best ones on their Facebook and Twitter.

Our first sneak peek of the record comes with single Uptown Folks – not to be confused with Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ hit song Uptown Funk. The track itself has more of a rock orientated sound, but still manages to uphold that chilled vibe Stone is synonymous with. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of these guys in the near future.
Take a listen of Uptown Folks below:
