Droughtlander‘ is soon to be over, with Starz finally announcing the premiere date for Outlander season three.

Fans who have been patiently waiting for season three will be able to breathe a sigh of relief on September 10th when the series makes its return on Starz.

By that time it will have been 519 days since the season two premiere, meaning it’s been one hell of wait for Outlander fans.

I mean, Jamie and Claire did kind of get separated at the end of the last season, resulting in many broken hearts.

Yes Jamie, that season two ending is certainly still on our minds. Source.

Season three of Outlander will consist of 13 episodes based off Voyager, the third novel in the series by Diana Gabaldon.

The new season will start where the second finishes, with Jamie dealing with the aftermath of Culloden and Claire stuck 200 years in the future and pregnant with Jamie’s child.

From there, we’ve been given a little clue as to where the story is headed – the new season was filmed over 10 months in Scotland and Cape Town, South Africa where some old Black Sails sets were put to good use. (Yarrrrgh, I am talking about a sea voyage).

It’s also almost certain that we’ll see Jamie and Claire reunited in this season (I mean, what is Outlander if they’re not together?). We’ll definitely have the tissues ready for that moment.

Until then we’ll be sobbing over this small teaser of what’s to come.

Then there’s also a promo poster which shows a very anguished looking Jamie and a sad looking Claire, both who clearly look like they live 200 years apart. I mean, look at them! Look at them! (Yes I’m crying).

There are no words. Source.

Rejoice Outlander fans, the “droughtlander” pain will soon be over. And of course, there’s also eight massive books to work through until then.
